Playoffs Sunday November 1 at Monte Vista Christian, be there at 10 am!

Our playoff game is tomorrow at Monte Vista Christian School at 11 am. All players need to be at the field at 10 am!

We play the Raiders at 11 am; if we win, we play again at Noon.

Please note that the league is charging $2 admission for all parents and spectators. There will also apparently be a snack bar open.

Please remember your mouthguards...

Game Sunday 10 am, Pictures at 9 am!

Our last game of the season is on Sunday at 10 am, at New Brighton.

We will have team pictures taken at 9 am, so please be on time, in uniform! Everyone will get a free team photo, and I believe we will be able to purchase individual photos.

This game is important for our playoff seeding, please show up ready to go!

The playoffs will be next Sunday (Nov. 1) at Monte Vista. Our game time will be decided after this weekend's games have been played. We will let you know the details.

IMPORTANT: PRACTICE TIME CHANGE

Due to earlier darkness (and cold weather!), beginning this week practices on Monday and Thursday will now start at 4:30pm, and end at 6pm. Practices will continue to be held at Panther Park!

Please let Coach Bryan know if this is a problem for anyone.

Game Sunday (wear blue t-shirts)

Panthers play tomorrow at 9am, at New Brighton. Please be at the field at 8:15 for warm ups.

Please wear a blue t-shirt; any shade is okay, though we're going for bright Panther blue if you have it. Uniforms are obviously not yet here, for any of the teams. Scott is very frustrated and is doing the best he can.

Please also remember to bring your mouthpiece; we had to give out a few new ones last week and we're running low.

Practice tonight (Thursday), Game Sunday

Practice tonight, 5pm at Panther Park.

Our next game is Sunday at 9 am at New Brighton. Please have your player there by 8:15 if possible. We need time to get our flags and warm up.

We still don't know about jerseys yet...waiting to hear from Scott. All of the teams are in the same situation. If we don't have jerseys again on Sunday, we will need to wear blue shirts. Bryan will let you know.

Great game, Panthers! Practice and Pizza tomorrow (Monday)!

Everyone played hard today, and it was a great win!

Practice will be tomorrow, Monday Sept. 14, 5pm at Panther Park.

Apparently Coach Bryan was overhead promising the team a pizza party if the defense could come up with 2 interceptions. The defense delivered, so please join us at Village Host directly after practice for pizza!

If you're picking up your Panther after practice, you can get them at Village Host. We will be there just after 6:30 and we should be done around 7:30.

Thanks for the support on the sidelines today, I'm sure it helped keep our team fired up!

Players need to wear white t-shirts again -- sorry, Scott is working out the jersey problem and the latest update is that we will have them next week.

We recommend bringing water. There will be a port-a-potty at the park this week.

Next Practice Thursday Sept. 10/Game and Snack Info

Hi Panthers,

Great practice yesterday!

Next practice is Thursday, Sept. 10, 5pm at Panther Park.

We should be getting our jerseys (and flags) this week, stay tuned for more information.

The next Game is Sunday at 11 am, once again at Monterey Park (New Brighton Middle School). There was a possibility that our games would be moved to Soquel or Aptos High, but Scott has announced that we will continue to play at New Brighton. Arrangements will be made this week for port-a-potties.

Cindy Evans has graciously volunteered to bring snacks for the team on Sunday. We'll do this on a volunteer basis every week, just see me at the game if you want to volunteer.

First Game Sunday!

Panthers first game (vs. the Dolphins) is Sunday at 9 am. We are scheduled to play at New Brighton Middle School. If there's a change in the venue, Bryan will call everyone. (There's a rumor that we may be able to play on a real football field, at Soquel High.)

Please have your players at the field no later than 8:30 am. Remember they need black shorts (no stripes/pinstripes) and cleats. Jerseys haven't come in yet from the NFL, but Scott and the League have a backup plan in case we don't have them by gametime. Stay tuned.

Sorry the organization is a little rough this first week, but the Panthers are ready and we will have fun!

IMPORTANT: Change to Game Schedule: First Game Sunday Sept. 6

Due to delays with getting team uniforms, the Flag Football League has announced that this Sunday's games will be rescheduled to Sunday, October 4. There will be no game this Sunday. We may try to do a scrimmage during the regularly scheduled game time, stay tuned for more information. We'll talk about it at Thursday's practice.

Practice this week: Monday Aug. 17 and Thursday Aug. 20

Panther practices this week will be Monday Aug. 17 and Thursday Aug. 20. We've adjusted the schedule to try to accommodate as many schedules as possible. It's difficult to make a schedule that allows everyone to attend every practice, but we'll try to make the most of the practices we have, and the kids are catching on quickly!

Before Thursday's practice, everyone will need:

Shorts: Solid black shorts, no stripes or pinstripes.

Cleats: Any non-metal, rubber or plastic molded, soccer or baseball cleat will do; no screw-in cleats and no metal spikes.

If you can't get these before Thursday, please at least make sure the players show up in shorts rather than jeans, and with appropriate shoes.

We should have our jerseys sometime in the week of Aug. 24. The first game is Aug. 30.

Practices this week: Tuesday Aug. 11 and Thursday Aug. 13

Panthers practice will continue this week, Tuesday (Aug. 11) at 5:00 and Thursday (Aug. 13) at 5:00.

Next week we will move Tuesday's practice to 3:00, to coordinate with the early dismissal from Aptos Junior High. Thursday practices will continue to be at 5:00.

All practices will be at Rio Del Mar, on the lower field.

Welcome to Aptos Panthers Flag Football!

This Blog will be updated frequently with team information, practice times and locations, game information, etc. Please check in often!

Our first practice will be Tuesday, August 4 at 5pm at the lower field at Rio Del Mar Elementary. Practice will run until 6:30.

Players don't need to bring anything to practice; we have footballs and flags.

Parents who have not submitted a copy of their child's birth certificate should bring a copy to this first practice. We'll also need you to sign a copy of the League and NFL waivers; please find Julie so we can get your signatures (we have the forms).

Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at Rio. Once school has started we may hold Tuesday practices at 2:30 pm, because of early dismissal.
